Great news! Angular Kharkiv Meetup #8 goes online. If you’re into Angular and JS, join the meetup on August 11. It’s for free!
Angular Kharkiv Meetup #8 is a long-awaited meeting of all Angular fans interested in the latest developments, updates, and news in the field. As a long-term partner, Daxx is thrilled to invite you to join it online. Stellar speakers from the Angular world will give their presentations on the most trendy topics. Registration is 100% free!
We’re happy to introduce our special guest Minko Gechev — a developer from the Angular core team and a savvy speaker. As of today, Minko works as an Angular Engineer at Google. He has developed numerous projects, including AngularJS 1.x and Angular 2 style guides, angular2-seed, and many others. Also, he is a co-founder of Rhyme.com. Minko is an author of such bestsellers as “Getting Started with Angular” and “Switching to Angular 2”.
The topic of his presentation: “Internals of the Angular CLI”.
Together with Minko, you will look under the hood of the Angular CLI. You’ll start with scaffolding and go all the way to production build-time optimizations. At the beginning of the presentation, you’ll look at the in-memory transforms that we perform over the file structure of an Angular project. Next, you’ll focus on the extensibility points of the CLI which allow developers to develop custom commands or extend the existing build process. Finally, you will discuss ahead-of-time compilation, bundling, build optimization and dead-code-elimination that helps us shrink the bundle sizes of your Angular apps.

Aristeidis is an experienced Front-End Web Developer at Plex.Earth, a co-organizer of Athens Angular, and a contributor to the Angular documentation. He also shares his expertise as an Angular instructor at http://codehub.gr. Don’t miss out to listen to him live!
The topic of his speech: “Angular and Electron – More Than Just a Desktop App”.
In this talk at Angular Kharkiv Meetup #8, you will learn how Plex.Earth uses Angular and Electron to build Map Explorer, a map editing tool. We will then apply similar techniques to integrate ngx-wig, a popular Angular library, with Electron and make our own WYSIWYG editor. Finally, we will see how to leverage the Angular DI mechanism to maintain two different flavors of our app, web, and desktop.

Alex Okrushko is a Software Engineer at Google (Canada), working on Firebase Console. He is also a core member of NgRx team and a passionate maintainer of this library at Google. In his free time, he writes and reviews articles at blog.angularindepth.com and provides NgRx workshops.
The topic of his presentation: “Local State Management with @ngrx/component-store”.
Synchronizing state within the app and backends is one of the most complicated parts of writing web applications. There are a number of solutions for global/app-wide state management; however, a more localized state was left behind. Alex will give an introduction to the latest addition to NgRx family of libraries — @ngrx/component-store — a standalone library for managing local/component state, which intends to be a replacement of “services with a Subject”. In this talk, he will discuss what “state” is, go over some APIs of ComponentStore, and peek into some of the “best practices”.
WHEN: August 11 (18:00-21:00)
We’ll stick to our standard format: 3 topics for 30-40 min each + Q&A session.
*All presentations will be held in English.
Participation is free but registration is required!
