Why did you choose football?

I like sports that give me control over my body. Football is a good choice as it raises the level of coordination. When I joined Daxx, my teammates invited me to play with them. I said yes. And you know what? I liked it!

How long have you been playing football in general and for Daxx team in particular?

I played two football seasons overall.

What is your role on the team and why did you pick it?

I’m a former dancer. This helped me raise the level of coordination. So I decided to try myself as a goalkeeper. I’m very satisfied and I’m not going to give up on it.

What motivates you?

It’s an opportunity to work on the team. Even outside of the office.

Who is your favorite football player and what is your favorite team?

I’m a huge fan of the Ukrainian national football team. My favorite player who inspires me the most is Francesco Toldo. He is an Italian goalkeeper who, unfortunately, has already ended up his career.

What difficulties did you face while playing football or training?

It’s my general level of preparation. If I could, I’d like to spend much more time playing football and training. Another difficulty is that we don’t have enough players at the moment.

What are your goals for the future?

What I really want is to build a solid and stable team. And, of course, it would be great to get the victory in the Second League, and later in the First League.

What has changed in your life since you started playing football?

I met some new interesting people. I became more open and sociable. And most importantly – I’m in a much better physical shape than before, and even lost some weight. 🙂

What is your sports motto?

My motto in life (not only in sports): you don’t need to seem better, more interesting or stronger than your opponent – you need to be like that.

Why did you choose football?

Football has always been the number one sport for me. I became a huge fan of it after watching the World Cup in 1998.

How long have you been playing football in general and for Daxx team in particular?

Overall, I’ve been playing football since I was nine. For the Daxx team, I’ve been playing for one year.

What is your role on the team and why did you pick it?

We don’t have specific roles, except the goalkeeper. It always depends on a game.

What motivates you?

The victory. We always play for it.

Who is your favorite football player and what is your favorite team?

I’m a big fan of Andrii Shevchenko since childhood. I really admire his talent and hard work. My favorite team is “Dnipro”. No matter what.

What difficulties did you face while playing football or training?

The most important thing for the whole thing is to try not to get injured. Injuries are the roots of all difficulties.

What are your goals for the future?

To play, train and gain new victories together with the team.

What has changed in your life since you started playing football?

I won’t exaggerate if I say that football became a big part of my life. I just can’t imagine my childhood and youth without it.

What is your sports motto?

Never, never, never give up!

Why did you choose football?

First of all, it’s a team game and I like it. I enjoy the process. I like its unpredictability, variability, and combinability. Whichever way you look at it – I like pretty much everything about it. 🙂

How long have you been playing football in general and for Daxx team in particular?

As a child, I used to play tennis and ping pong. But then I realized that I didn’t like it that much. Neither I was interested in football. My relatives didn’t watch it so I didn’t even look at that direction. In my high school and university times, I started to play football a little and I even liked it. I wasn’t very good at it, though. I took part in the university domestic league, which helped me improve my play. When I joined Daxx and we decided to form a football team (it was 3-4 years ago), I was one of those willing to join. And I’ve been playing there since then.

What is your role on the team and why did you pick it?

As I work on improving my level of play and endurance at the moment, I usually serve as a substitute player. I also help out with lots of organizational issues: to agree on the training field, provide equipment for the game, fill out applications, collect players and so on and so forth. Overall, I’m just trying to help with anything I can.

What motivates you?

The desire to play football and be part of the team with a common goal.

Who is your favorite football player and what is your favorite team?

I always rooted for our “Dnipro”. When it broke up, I focused my attention on SC “Dnipro-1” – the promising coaching staff and talented youth were transferred to this team. On the world stage, I admire “Liverpool” most of all. But in general, I enjoy watching the games of “Manchester City”, “Tottenham”, “Barcelona”, and some other teams. It’s pretty hard to single out specific players… However, I try to keep an eye on Ukrainian football players: Konoplyanka, Zinchenko, Malinovsky, Lunin, and others.

What difficulties did you face while playing football or training?

My weak spot is poor endurance. As to injuries, I didn’t get any so far (knocking on wood or what we are doing in such a case). As to the team, we lack football players at Daxx.

What are your goals for the future?

I’d like to play at least two or, preferably, three times a week, grow as a person and as a team player, and work on my weaknesses.

What has changed in your life since you started playing football?

Now I have a favorite hobby that brings me pleasure and keeps me in good shape. I mix business with pleasure this way.

What is your sports motto?

Honestly, I don’t have one. But I always strive to play fair. I don’t like dirty games.

We’d like to thank Daxx Dnipro football team for telling us about their passion.

All the best and good luck in your future tournaments!
